What people are saying about "Doityourselfincrimination":

"In general, I love the whole CD. It's not boring and it makes you think!!!
Good one Mike, Proud to know you."

- Bernie Worrell - Founding Member of Parliament/Funkadelic

"Old school butt-winding funk with a nastiness that would've made Bootsy scream 'DAY-AM!!!' - that's the essence of the Mike Theiss stee-lo. Spleen-melting analog bass, horny horns, head-snapping beats, and tighter-than-a-hamster's-butt production are the hallmarks of "Doityourselfincrimination" Dig it once, and you'll have a difficult as hell time keeping his tunes out of your player, Pod, or head!"

- Rafe Gomez - Radio/Club D.J. - The Groove Boutique/NYC

"The title's a bit hard to fathom, but the grooves here are very straight ahead -- tight jazz funk of a style that's heavy in 60s and 70s soul jazz influences -- but which comes off with a slightly more modern touch! Mike Theiss plays all instruments here himself -- including organ, keyboards, and plenty of sax -- all in a recreation of older soulful modes, but with a bit of a contemporary twist to the production. Given that the record's a one-man affair, the sound is really quite strong -- and you can hardly spot the difference between Mike's work here on all instruments, and the often weaker sounds of a full band doing it together! If we had to pick a sort of style here, we'd almost line Mike's sound up with that of Ron Levy's recent albums -- slightly slick jazz funk, but still plenty darn nice!"

"Do you like Funk? Then you need to check this cat out!"
